CARF recognized several years ago the emerging importance of peer support services in behavioral health organizations. With that recognition came the development of CARF's peer support services standards. This training will discuss the successes and the challenges of implementing peer support services in an organization. This webinar will include the importance of training, supervision, and true inclusion of peers within the organizational workforce. There will be a discussion on various strategies in applying the CARF standards within organizations.
Webinar participants should be able to:
- Identify three benefits of peer support services.
- Identify two barriers/challenges that may be stumbling blocks to implementing successful peer support services.
- Identify ways to support the successful integration of peers into an organization.
- Identify examples that support conformance to CARF's peer support services standards.
