ASPIRE to Excellence® Section 1 includes a number of standards that encourages organizations to develop specific plans regarding cultural competency, strategic planning, accessibility, risk management, and technology. Organizations new to accreditation may have a strategic plan, but typically they do not have the other related plans and often do not see the point of developing such documents. If you have ever heard organizations say, "We're doing it for CARF," this often applies to these misunderstood and often poorly implemented plans. The concept of the plan is that it's detailed and describes future actions. In this webinar, participants will develop a greater understanding of these plans, their relationship to one another, and the importance of executing and reviewing plans annually.

Webinar participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the types of required plans and their purpose.
  2. Develop a template for the development of new plans or revision and updating of current plans.
  3. Describe the value to organizations to develop and implement such plans.
  4. Understand the interrelationship of these plans.
